Questions
Where are fuel prices from?
From the fuel price committee's monthly announcement (October 2026: Super 98 at 4.40, Special 95 at 4.28, E-Plus 91 at 4.21, diesel 4.80 AED/litre). They change at the end of each month, and you can type the new price yourself.
How is insurance calculated?
The Insurance Authority tariff (in the Central Bank rulebook): comprehensive for a saloon has a minimum of AED 1,300 and a maximum of 5% of the vehicle's value (4x4: 2,000 and 7%); third-party for a 4-cylinder saloon is 750–1,300. Our default is 3% of value for comprehensive within those limits; type your insurer's quote to be exact.
Is depreciation an official figure?
No. There is no official UAE reference; the tool uses a general industry rule (about 20% in year one, then 15%, then 10% a year) marked as an estimate. Change it if you know your car's market.
How much is Salik?
Dubai since 2025: AED 6 at peak (6–10 am and 4–8 pm) and 4 off-peak, free from 1 to 6 am, and 4 all day on Sundays. Abu Dhabi's Darb: AED 4 per crossing at peak (7–9 and 15–19), free on Sundays and holidays, with the daily and monthly caps removed.
