My digital legacy
If something happens to you, your family doesn't know where your accounts are, how to reach your photos, or who the wallet balance goes to. Write your list here (accounts, where the will is, whom to call, and what you want done with each account), encrypt it with a password, and download a sealed file to keep with your papers, giving the password to someone you trust. Nothing is uploaded and we see nothing.
Your file never leaves your device — everything runs in your browser

How to use it
- Write the important accounts (bank, email, photos, wallet, domains, business) and what you want done with each: closed, handed to someone, kept as a memorial.
- Write whom to call, where the will and papers are, and any instructions. Then pick a strong password and download the sealed file.
- Print the «for my family» sheet, keep it with the file and give the password to someone you trust. And set up the legacy contacts in Apple, Google and Facebook from the links.
Questions
Where is the file kept?
With you: the tool encrypts the text in your browser (AES-256 with a key derived from your password) and downloads it as a file. It passes through no server, and if the password is lost nobody can open it — not even us.
Is this a legal will?
No. These are practical instructions for your family. In the UAE, digital assets of value (crypto, domains, earning accounts) form part of the estate when ownership is proven, and there is no stand-alone digital-inheritance law. Non-Muslims can use DIFC Courts wills (which launched a «digital assets will» in October 2024) and the non-Muslim wills office at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. See a lawyer for the will.
Why set up legacy contacts on the platforms?
Because platforms don't hand heirs the password: Apple gives a «legacy contact» an access key (photos, messages, notes — not purchases or passwords) with the death certificate; Google's «inactive account manager» sends your data to whom you choose after a period of inactivity; Facebook's «legacy contact» manages a memorialised account without reading messages. Accessing someone else's account without authorisation falls under the cybercrime law.
How often do I update it?
Whenever an important account changes, or once a year. The old file is discarded and the new one replaces it.
