Animate your child's drawing

Photograph the drawing your child made on paper, and within seconds it becomes a character that walks, runs, dances, jumps and waves — in their own lines and colours. The tool cuts the character out of the paper, gives it a skeleton (adjust it with a finger if it's off), animates it, and downloads an MP4 to send to the family. Everything on your phone.

Your file never leaves your device — everything runs in your browser

Upload the drawing photoJPG or PNG — one drawing on light paper

How to use it

  1. Photograph the drawing on light paper in good light, and upload the photo.
  2. Check the joints (head, shoulders, elbows, hands, hips, knees, feet) are in place — drag any point to adjust.
  3. Pick a motion, watch it live, and download the video.

Questions

How does it find the character on the paper?

It estimates the paper colour from the photo's edges, separates everything that differs from it (lines and colouring), closes small gaps, and keeps the largest connected shape. Then it tries to find the body pose with a pose-estimation model (MediaPipe Pose, Apache-2.0); if that fails, it places a default skeleton in the drawing's proportions for you to adjust.

How does it move without tearing?

The character becomes a triangle mesh, and every point follows its two nearest bones with weights (linear blend skinning), so an arm turns from the shoulder, a leg from the hip and the body stays together. The same idea as Meta's Animated Drawings project, but inside the browser.

Which drawings work?

Best: one character, standing, arms and legs visible and separate from the body, on white paper without folds or strong shadows. Tilted drawings or ones with several characters need cropping first.

How long is the video?

4 looping seconds (30 fps) as an MP4 that plays on WhatsApp and Instagram, with a background in the paper's colour. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
