Questions
Is it official?
No — for guidance. The official division is by the court's certificate of heirs.
Which law?
The UAE Personal Status Law (Decree-Law 41 of 2024), in force since April 2025.
Why are some cases not calculated?
Other kin and the obligatory bequest need more detail — we say so rather than guess.
Does the grandfather inherit alongside siblings?
No. Like the father, the grandfather excludes brothers and sisters: he belongs to the paternal-ascendant class that comes before siblings (Articles 208, 219–221, 226 and 230), and TAMM's government calculator works the same way. The one exception is al-Akdariyya (Article 239).
