Try henna on your hand

Before Eid or the wedding, see the design on your hand before it's applied: open the camera or upload a photo of your hand, and the design draws itself on the fingers, palm and wrist and moves with you. Three schools (Gulf, Indian, Moroccan), three colours (fresh, dark, black), density as you like. Take a snapshot and send it to the henna artist: «like this». Everything stays on your phone.

How to use it

  1. Open the camera (or upload a photo of your hand) and keep the whole hand in the frame.
  2. Pick the school, colour and density — the design updates instantly and follows your hand.
  3. Press «Snapshot» and the photo with the design is saved to share.

Questions

How does it know where the fingers are?

MediaPipe's Hand Landmarker model (Apache-2.0) runs inside the browser and gives 21 points per hand: the wrist, the finger joints and the tips. The design is drawn geometrically on those points, so it stretches and turns with your hand. Nothing is sent to any server.

Why doesn't the design appear?

Keep the whole hand in the frame with the fingers slightly open, and light from the front rather than behind. It works on the back of the hand and the palm, and on both hands at once.

Can the henna artist reproduce it?

The snapshot shows the idea and the layout (fingers, palm, wrist) and works as a reference, but the artist redraws it by hand in her own style — the design here is simplified compared with real work.

What's the difference between the three schools?

Gulf: spaced leafy vines and roses on the fingers with a large flower on the palm. Indian: a dense mandala on the palm with dots and branches covering the fingers. Moroccan: geometric shapes (triangles, grids, zigzags) with no flowers.
