Say it in Arabic
For Arabic learners: hear the phrase, say it, and see which words came out the way an Arabic listener would understand them and which didn't land. Everyday phrases in simple Modern Standard Arabic and Emirati, in Latin and Arabic letters, with a score for every try.
How to use it
- Pick a level and a set (greetings, the shop, the taxi, work…) and listen to the phrase.
- Tap the mic and say it. You see what the browser heard, with matching words in green.
- Repeat until all the words are green, then move to the next phrase.
Questions
How is pronunciation judged?
By the browser's speech recognition (Chrome uses Google's service): if it understood your word the way an Arabic listener would, it turns green. It judges clarity, not accent — which is what matters in the street.
Which browser?
Chrome and Edge on desktop and Android, Safari on iPhone (sometimes). Firefox doesn't support speech recognition.
Standard or Emirati?
Both: simple Standard Arabic is understood by every Arab, Emirati is what you hear in the UAE. Every phrase is written in Arabic and in Latin letters so you can read it.
Is my voice sent anywhere?
Speech recognition is a service of your browser (in Chrome it passes through Google's servers). We receive nothing and store nothing.
