Questions
When does salary count as late?
Ministerial Resolution 340/2026 (in force 1 June 2026): the previous month's wage is due on the first day of each calendar month, and the establishment is compliant if it transfers at least 85% of total wages on time through the Wage Protection System. The old «15 days» rule is gone.
What happens to the company when it's late?
From the due date: day 2 alerts, day 5 new work permits suspended and a warning, day 11 an administrative fine and downgrade on repetition, day 16 a labour dispute registered automatically, day 21 an executive payment instrument (under 50 workers) or collective-dispute procedures, which can reach precautionary seizure, a travel ban on the responsible person and referral to prosecution.
How do I complain?
The «my salary complaint» service on the Ministry's website and app, or the call centre 80060. The Ministry attempts an amicable settlement and decides claims up to AED 50,000 with an enforceable decision; appeal to court within 15 working days. Above 50,000 it goes to court. Your identity is confidential.
How is end-of-service calculated?
For a full-time foreign worker after one continuous year: 21 days of the last basic wage per year for the first 5 years, and 30 days per year after that, capped at two years' wage, with fractions of a year pro rata. Dues are paid within 14 days of the contract ending. The calculator uses a day's wage = monthly basic ÷ 30.
