Questions
How often can I donate?
Whole blood every 56 days (8 weeks) per the Dubai Health Authority FAQ, and SEHA Abu Dhabi says every two months; apheresis platelets every two weeks, double red cells every 16 weeks. The tool works out the date.
The conditions?
Age 18–65, weight 50 kg or more, blood pressure, pulse and temperature within normal, good general health, a valid Emirates ID (Dubai also accepts GCC ID; tourists can't donate), and a doctor's interview about medical history, medicines and travel. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised not to. (Dubai Health mentions 55 kg for some ages — its sources conflict, so ask the centre.)
Do tattoos exclude me?
A temporary 6-month deferral after a tattoo or microblading per the Dubai Health Authority (as reported), returning from a malaria area defers donation (30 days per Dubai Health 2024, older sources 6 months), and a history of malaria is a permanent exclusion.
