No — they're generated on your phone moment by moment from filtered noise, so they never loop and need no download or connection.
Does it play with the screen off?
Some phones stop sound when the screen turns off or you leave the browser. Install it as an app and keep it open for best results.
Why an AC sound?
Many of us are used to sleeping to the AC's steady hum — a kind of «brown noise» that masks disturbing sounds.
